...towards a mental health liberation

My style is warm, deeply caring, and compassionately responsive. I invite you to create a safe, brave, welcoming space to explore current struggles, express what causes you pain, expand your awareness of internal and external obstacles and create pathways toward deep and sustainable change. I view a healing session as a collaborative process, and I am respectful of each person’s unique challenges, strengths and goals. The session modalities I integrate in our work together are guided by your concerns, emotional and physical manifestations and preferences. My practice is grounded in honoring your wisdom and the uniqueness of your healing process.

My work is strongly informed by  different approaches: multicultural feminist approach, integrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psycho-dynamic therapy, meditation/mindfulness, social justice, art therapy, Person Centered Therapy,  Expressive Therapies, Family Therapy, Harm Reduction Therapy, LGBTQI+ Affirmative Therapy,  Mindfulness-Based  Therapy,  Stress Management Skill Building and Relaxation Training, Coaching, Strengths Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Body Trust🄬 and Trauma-Focused Therapy. This diverse background allows me to integrate various therapeutic strategies based on the needs of the client. The art of healing involves being flexible and creative enough to use a practical “do what works” rather than a “one size fits all” approach.

My choice to become a healer was inspired by my own journey and life experiences, and represents the culmination of all I have learned, felt and become. This is the work that I feel I was meant to do. I find great joy and meaning in helping folks gain insight and awareness, access their innate strengths and resources, and develop the skills and confidence to transform their lives towards justice and liberation.

My commitment to you...

In all of my efforts for collaborative change, I value relationships, and approach my work with respect for all people. I strive in both my perspectives and practices to challenge racism, homogeneity, sexism, heteronormativity, homophobia, and oppression in all its forms.

I challenge power structures at all levels.

Intersectional Approach and Systemic Analysis: Social, economic and ecological issues are interconnected. The problems are interrelated, and so are the solutions.

Analysis of Power: Through the analysis of institutional power, I identify and unpack the systems of oppression, and analyze the narratives that help to legitimize and hold these institutions in place. I will bring a power analysis lens to all of our work.

Anti Racism: I commit to create and promote an anti-racist practice in our work, and challenge and make visible the internal and external racism and oppression that may impact your healing.

Sacred Space: I take responsibility for making a safe and brave space for your voice, listening deeply to your experiences, wisdom, and stories while being sensitive to each other’s perspectives and identities.

Accountability: I will work consciously and consistently to challenge historic patterns of marginalization and oppression including racism, sexism, homophobia and discrimination in all its forms.

Appreciation and Gratitude: for the whole of each other’s personhood. I will respect and nurture your culture, class, gender, orientation, racial, and religious differences. I will do my best to own my stuff and bring into the work our sameness and differences in a way that celebrates who we are.
